"My family has used Resurrection Medical Center for three generations, but when I went there recently for shoulder surgery I was disappointed.  They didn't have enough staff so after the surgery there was often no one to help me with therapy for my shoulder, or to help me to the bathroom or keep my room clean."

- L.C., Former Patient at Resurrection Medical Center

"While recovering from back surgery at Resurrection West Suburban Hospital I was given a room with a broken bed.  I complained but nothing was done.  Then the bed slipped while I was trying to dress and I had a bad fall, reinjuring my back."
- J.A., Former Patient at Resurrection Health Care's West Suburban Medical Center

"When my mother went to St. Francis Hospital with fluid in her lungs the hospital seemed so short staffed and so unsanitary that I felt like I needed to stay with her the whole time, but even so I worry that the poor conditions contributed to her death. Saint Francis is spending a lot of money on painting the outside of the hospital, making it look like a hotel, but meanwhile the rooms inside are filthy.  The nurses there are definitely understaffed."
- J.S., Former Patient at Resurrection Health Care's St. Francis of Evanston

"My experiences with Resurrection Health Care as a patient and former employee have convinced me that the system puts profit ahead of the legitimate needs of its patients."
- J.C., Former Employee of Resurrection Health Care and Former Patient at Resurrection Health Care's West Suburban Medical Center.

"My 94-year-old father went to West Suburban in January 2006, having broken his hip in a fall. . . the staffing on his ward was much lower than it should have been.  I couldn't be sure that anyone was going to make sure Dad ate his meal if I wasn't there.  Other patients would call me into their rooms if they needed water or something else because staff wasn't available to come when they called . . . I would never send him back to West Suburban."
- D.G., Daughter of a Former Patient at Resurrection Health Care's West Suburban Medical Center

"As a member of the community, I tried to speak to West Suburban about the continuation of a service I need for access, but West Suburban's CEO, Jay Kreuzer, rudely dismissed my concerns."
- B.T., Former Patient at Resurrection Health Care's West Suburban Medical Center

"I'd never be an inpatient there again.  They are way too understaffed and undersupplied to make the atmosphere health."
- D.R., Former Patient at Resurrection Health Care's St. Francis of Evanston

"I've been a loyal patient at West Suburban for years, but I am finally leaving because of concerns over their infection control and treatment of patients . . . I just hope West Suburban can learn from their mistakes, so they can provide quality care for any patients that comes to them for help in their moment of need."
- L.A., Former Patient at Resurrection Health Care's West Suburban Medical Center

"I had an emergency Caesarean section at St. Mary of Nazareth, and encountered a lack of respect from doctors, a poor level of nursing care, and major inconsistencies in the billing process. . . Once my baby and I were taken to our room, the administrative office called my room while I was on a painkilling drip and wanted me to talk to them about payment of our bill.  Some of the nurses were lovely people, but there didn't seem to be enough staff.  The level of basic nursing care- things like clean dressings and help getting to the bathroom- was poor."
- K.L., Former Patient at Resurrection Health Care's St. Mary of Nazareth Medical Center
